This evening, a group of us took a trip down to the BBC Studios. For me, this was my second time visiting. I was very excited to go back as i really enjoyed it the first time and thought the crew gave really good advice on how to get into the industry.
This time round, i particularly loved hearing about their personal experiences getting into the industry along with their tips.
We had a tour through the Gallery, the TV studio and also the Radio studio. It was really amazing to see everything going on live how we would see it at home on our TV's. I loved witnessing the production that goes on behind the scenes as i find it very interesting. It's crazy how much intense pressure they are under to ensure everything runs smoothly. Even watching, made us feel on edge.
After their speech we were allowed to ask many questions about the industry and they helped us a lot by individually going through our dream roles and how we could possibly reach them, what our possible next step could be going forward. We then watched the News following by the weather on the screens in the top left picture. I found it so fascinating how everything comes together at such a fast pace. After, we were taken down to the TV studio where the live show we had just watched was broadcasted. This gave us a chance to speak to Anna Church, the weather lady and find out more about how everything works. We asked her many questions on her career and her previous experiences.
Overall, I had a brilliant time at the BBC studio's and would definitely go back for the 3rd time if I got the chance. I love hearing peoples stories and advice on getting in the industry. This is something that motivates me. I also found the whole production of the live news extremely fascinating. It was also very interesting to compare their set up to ours back when when we did our own live TV shows last year.
I am also very interested within TV production because my mum used to be in the industry herself. As she is unfortunately not here to tell me all about her amazing experiences and stories, it was lovely to hear it from other people today and made me think about all the fun she would of had.
