Today we worked in groups of three. We were given three different postcards to create three 15 second shorts for each separate postcard. This was a very open task and we weren't given any prompts or leeway on how or shorts should turn out or what they should be based on. We were given all the freedom to create an idea based upon what we incorporated from the three postcard images. In our team we came up with an idea that connected the three images and realized that this could make our 15 second shorts link and possibly be more effective. By looking at the cards bellow we as a team decided to portray three different mental states.. confident, shy and depressed. The idea is that you never know what someone is going through. I got the card "shy" my idea for my short was to incorporate the word 'shy' by using a typical school/college atmosphere where there is a variety of different people feeling completely different feelings. The idea is that each person in the short has an emotion on their forehead although how they are feeling may not necessarily be how they are actually coming across. This links back to our idea to portray people in different mental states throughout our three postcards.
We worked together to produce a treatment for our short sequence so that it was planned and so we could get onto filming straight away. In terms of 'why' we have chosen to create what we did. We all wrote a separate section explaining our individual thought processes and ideas.
