Documentary planning

Today we discussed our documentary ideas and began Pre-production, we started by getting inspiration from previous years documentaries and we all began to share our ideas as a collective group which enabled us to spider diagram some strong ideas and inspiration in our own groups. I am in a group of two, we have chosen to base our documentary on the 'effects of social media' particularly within young people. We want to highlight issues such as isolation, mental health, body image, bullying etc...

We will expand on our research throughout the next couple of days in order to be prepared for when we come to film our content. Because we will be filming a 'poetic' style documentary in a series we need to ensure we include the following features in order for our documentary to come under our given category which is 'social action', social action documentaries normally include empathetic, informative and educational features that are made to shock the audience along with informing them on a possible solution which will hopefully (if successful) create or at least start some form of social action.
