It is coming round to December already! Personal statements need to been written. Today i worked on the project from DANCOP. I worked on my notes and my personal statement. Bellow, are my written up notes from the DANCOP sessions so that i have clear vital information all in one place to look back on. These written tasks are in for next week and are on our brief.

DO NOT OVER USE WORDS & TRY TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD

You will either be offered a conditional offer, an unconditional offer or be declined.

Clearing adjustments are made, then you are able to put another offer forward for a university that perhaps has space left or is excepting people with lower grades, in case you don’t get the high grades you were expecting.

1 choice = £18

2+ choices = £24

UCAS Extra - 25 Feb – 4 July

If you have used all five choices + have no offers or have declined all offers. You could add Extra choices for consideration one at a time.

Clearing - early July to October

If you have no offers or have not met the conditions of an offer, or have applied after 30th June deadline.

Adjustment - up to five days mid – end August

If you have gained better results than the expected, better than the conditional offer you hold, this gives you could apply for a different course or university.

Important University information

· Roughly 9,000 a year – fee

· Student loan is paid directly to you in 3 separate sections – spread through academic year

· Loan is decided on due to your financial position

· Application process should be done on Gov.uk

· Student finance – tuition fee loan and maintenance loan

· ALL students are entitled to a student loan

- You only pay back when your earning 21-25,000 a year

- Contacting Student Finance England, Debt collectors, Automatically via payroll

- University debt will be written off after 25 years, 30 years or never

· The UCAS process can take up to 6 weeks due to high demand

· You will have to learn to manage the loan – Living essentials

· Food – transport – shopping – books etc.

· Recommended budget list or calendar to help organise

2. Broadens your employment ability - People with degrees earn on average 12,000 a year more than those who don’t have a degree

Financial Hardship Funds apply to:

- Students with children, especially single parents

- Mature students with existing financial commitments

- Students from low-income families

- Disabled students

- Students previously in care (a ‘care leaver)

- Homeless students

The Student finance application can take up to - 1 week, 1 month, 6 weeks to come back with result so get it done as soon as possible.

My Personal statement must have

- Minimum 1000 characters - Writing a personal statement also useful if you are applying for an apprenticeship or work.

- Clear passion for the course I am applying for

- Evidence of any relevant work experience to set me ahead of others

- My interests, facts and what I enjoy

- Show my personality traits throughout and portray myself in the best possible light to sell myself
