During the last three months i have been taking visits to the following universities with my dad.

  • Bournemouth University - Media production

  • Bath Spa University - Film and Television & Creative Media

  • Rochester 'University of the creative arts' - Television Production & Fashion, media and promotion

  • York st John's university - Media production

  • University of Leeds - Media, photography and film

  • Leeds trinity - Media

  • Nottingham Trent University - Media production & Film and TV production

( I am also thinking about visiting The university of Westminster although I was not able to this year, I will visit this university next year for the open day instead as I am very intrigued by the course 'contemporary media practice' )

It is so important that you go and see the universities that interest you by text because very often it can be completely different than you expect. For better and for worse. Seeing the universities in person helped be get a feel for the city, the accommodation, the tutors, the campus and most importantly the course.

It has been a very hard but exciting time thinking about my 'next step' it is very difficult to judge the courses online which is why it was very important to me to go and experience the different universities first hand. With universities i had high expectations for in terms of the college course it's self turned out to be the ones i'm not necessarily interested in anymore, where as places such as 'Bath Spa' which i was contemplating even turning up to on the open day due to being unsure turned out to be my favorite course and is now at the top of my list. Its funny how you don't truly know if the course is for you until you actually go see it, it can change your perspective completely. This is something i found during my visits.

After visiting a wide range of courses i can now rank each one from best to worse in my opinion...

  1. Bath Spa

  2. Bournemouth

  3. York

  4. Nottingham Trent

  5. Leeds Trinity & University of Leeds

  6. Rochester

This was so difficult to rank and i am still currently contemplating on the order, Although i would definitely say Bath Spa is my favorite and Rochester is my least favorite. This is funny because before i went to see them in person i would have had a completely different order. This is why it is so vital that time is spent actually visiting the places because you never know, it could be totally different in person and might not be everything you had hoped for, on the other hand you may also be surprised.
