Our task today was very beneficial for all of us. After discussing as a class the majority of us don’t know what we want to do next after college. Whether that be university, an apprenticeship, work or a further course at NCN. During Rob's lesson we each picked three locations out of a hat and went on to creating a power point on them for our first brief due early on in November. I thought this was a brilliant idea as we will eventually get to present them to the class and we will all have different locations across the UK with different availability’s and suggestions we might want to take part in or look further into. This task will help us and save time for all of us as we are working as a team to research possible ideas for all of us and somebody else’s suggestion could spark an idea for me. Similarly, my power point might contain information that somebody else is interested in and could help them decide what it is they might want to do in the future.

In the second half of the lesson we were introduced to DANCOP. They presented an interesting power point to us and also showed us some videos on applying for university and the application process. We all completed a quiz on UCAS which they talked us through afterwards making sure we all understood everything. I found their visit very helpful and informative. We also did some tasks and spoke about university, what it entails, problems we might face, why we think we might want to go to university. They also shared their thoughts and experiences which I thought was good as it gave us a more detailed honest description on if university will suit us and what good and bad things come with being a student so on and so forth.

Our last task for the day with Sarah was to create a personal planner, baring in mind we are on a creaive course we had the task to be as creative as we wanted. displaying the information DANCOP had given us and also to remind us of the different options we have and the decisions we will have to be making before Christmas in terms of imporatant applications and deadlines. This task was also to make it personal to us and get creative with it. Not everyone finds looking at a spread sheet exiting and it can make it look more scary, where as making our own and personalising it with our own touch will ensure we take in the information and get excited about what is to come rather than pushing it to one side and not reading it thoroughly.
